Home Sweet Home (Part 2)

The holidays have really got me thinking about home. The home that's still in my head is that of my childhood- even as a "grown up". It is a magical land of kittens and moss and damp leaves and fuzzy socks and warm soup and movie nights by the fire. This gets me thinking about what MY home will be one day, so I've compiled some pieces of inspiration for Part 2 of my concept of home- grown of my past, present, and future.

If Part 2 had a mission statement, it would be this: bright but still warm, vintage but still modern, quirky, lovely, and a place I hope to throw fabulous dinner parties (possibly catered- we all know how well I cook), escape from the world, and cuddle up to the fire in. It will be a place that both Anna Wintour and Harry Potter would feel just as comfortable. Oh, and it will likely have some nod to surfing, ravenous unicorns, and lightning bolts ;)

Cool Kids

Although I've partially given up my "hipster ways" (yes, I really did just say that), I can't help but indulge in the occasional cool kid blog...

Sarah Bearah

Today I was inspired by a little chippie who is very near and dearto my heart:
Sarah DeArakie. Sarah has been working with fashion designer extraordinaire Rory Beca since beginning her attendance at FIDM this summer. She sent me her blog today and was blown away at her ability to capture this amazing experience not only visually but in the most beautiful prose I've read in some time. Be sure to check it out.

Daily Fashion Dose

Now that I live at the beach I have to get my fashion fixes c/o the sartorialist. This site and I have a LONG standing relationship of trust and integrity... in fashion. I have seen no rival to compare and I think it's safe to say I would (or would want to) wear everything on this site.

Speaking of cool things from Lil, can we please talk about how cool this venvue is!?

Lily's Wedding

Every once in a while you're surprised by something that seems so obvious... an idea for non-traditional wedding that is every bit as beautiful as the big poufy over-done weddings of old. Lily is the perfect example of this. Her ideas are as brilliant as they are unique and gorgeous. I can't wait to see what she does with the "best day of her life" ;)

Here are some other really cool wedding shots. I never thought a wedding could be so...cool!
